Ernst Haeckel Animation

The following was a class assignment for Environmental Animation. The assignment was to create a collection of objects and then animate them. I chose to use as my inspiration the drawings of Ernst Haeckel.

The animation was done in Blender and I also dived a bit into python scripting so all of the animation is procedurally generated (except for the cameras). The hardest part was getting the fish to go where I wanted them to! They all had minds of their own.

Here is the collection that I made. 3 plants. 1 predator. 3 prey.

Here is the actual animation. There is a bit of a Monty-Python twist at the end where Ernst Haeckel makes an appearance. Click on the image to go to the video.
